Teaching Staff
Our school is keen to employ excellent teachers, who have a clear wish to work overseas. Vacancies are advertised in the Times Educational Supplement, usually in January. We also attend the CIS Recruitment fair, which is held in London during February. Details of this can be found on their own website.
In seeking teachers the Governing Board looks for overall quality, adaptability and enthusiasm. A sense of humour is also essential! As our school follows the English National Curriculum, both training and experience of working within this system is important. We also require qualified teacher status, or a first degree with P.G.C.E. In return the Board offers teachers a salary based on the UK scale, free accommodation with most services, in-service opportunities and private medical care. Wherever possible we seek to recruit teachers locally, and those staff also receive the UK salary scale and an opportunity to take part in a local private medical scheme.
The BESA employs UK trained or Qualified Teaching Status Teachers. A full list of staff and their qualifications is available on request.
We are also keen to build up a group of local supply staff. If you would like to be considered for this, and have teaching qualifications and experience (not necessarily within the British system), please do contact the Head.
