Curriculum Overview
Welcome to Year 7 the first year of Secondary Education. The move to Secondary Education is exciting. Students are taught a range of subjects and will come into contact with some specialist teachers. Students will have lots of help in settling into a new routine.
The school day is from 8.40am to 4pm. There are twelve lessons everyday, each lasting 30 minutes, although a number of these will be double periods. There is registration period at the start of everyday lasting 10 minutes.
The Year 7 curriculum offers a broad and balanced education, building on the programme laid down in Key Stage 2 of BESA. Many subjects follow on from courses started in Year 6 the last year of Key Stage 2 and are based upon the National Curriculum for England and Wales. Our programmes of study take into account the rich diversity of nationalities in our student body.

Welcome to Year 8, the second year of the Secondary School. Year 8 is the second year of Key Stage 3. The curriculum in Year 8 continues to offer a broad and balanced education, consolidating the work from Year 7 and providing, as part of Key Stage 3, the essential foundations for the GCSE courses offered later in Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11) and beyond. Our programmes of study take into account the rich diversity of nationalities in the student body.
The school day is from 8.40 to 16:00. There are twelve lessons every day, each lasting 30minutes, although a number of these will be double periods. There is a registration period of 10 minutes with the form tutors at the start of the day. Below is a list of subjects studied in Year 8.
