Letters from Ex-Students
Hi Dawn!
I’m now a teacher myself, in London. I was there from February 1995 – July 1996 (Years 5 and 6) and have too many good memories to give! Some of my highlights are:
Being pushed in the swimming pool after sports day when I was in Year 6 – we were pushing Mr Scott in and I got too close and went in too!Midsummer Night’s Dream performance in the woods by the ‘Old Oak’Being Joseph in ‘Joseph and his amazing technicoloured dreamcoat’The new extension being builtGoing to Kizkalesi on the bus (and burning my arm on a boat’s exhaust pipe…maybe not a highlight?!)
I think that’s it…for now! Keep me updated on any jobs going J

Mrs. Akyurek!
My dear Year 3 and Year 6 teacher, as well as my mommy who took care of me for about a week while my parents were away! I attended BESG during the years of 1998-2002. I am currently situated in Pretoria, South Africa studying Human Resource Management at the University of Pretoria (completed first year).
I have up to date met up with Beatrice in Israel, Hee Min in Istanbul and Stefanie who came to visit me in Pretoria. I try my best to keep in contact with all the others via email and facebook!
What great memories I have with you and all the BESG students, teachers as well as the events! BESG being small, felt like our second home.
I remember the woods, how gigantic that nature was with all those acorn trees that we used to use as "monetary currency." The Green Pitch, those hills we used to slide down during the winter snow. The race to ask the teacher who can ring the bell to call in all the children from break. All those class trips to the mountains where we skiied, and Kizkalesi.
I'll never forget my wonderful teachers such as Mrs. Olcer who went through several early morning lessons to teach me to read and write English. What a great times we had in the library! She had a method of making us become so fond of books and appreciate language and art.
Mrs. Mcklean (Year 5), what a humble and beautiful individual she was! So full of patience and did everything she could to keep her class happy and interested! Who can ever forget
Mrs. Tickner who gave us swimming lessons! She always made sure it was challenging with swimming costumes and jeans and endless laps around the pool; yet incredibly strict.
I thank all the staff members and effort that was put into the 4 years that I was there. I've left that primary school with so many fond memories and would love to come back to visit sometimes.
Cok optum!
