Looking Back...

The British Embassy Study Group was originally founded in 1959 and existed as a kindergarten school in two rooms of the British Council, attended by a small group of children. Since that time the school has moved twice and each time it has expanded and its facilities have been extended and upgraded.  The school moved to its present site in the diplomatic grounds of the British Embassy in Ankara in 1964.

The school has grown and grown, currently educating more than 200 children from more than 30 nationalities. Although a British school, it is very much an international school. This balance is reflected in the school’s choice of curriculum, being a combination of the English National Curriculum, the International Primary Curriculum and the International Middle Years Curriculum.
